What is the difference between usable points and total point

I really want to know the difference between usable points and total points. Please help!

Usable points are usable. You can transfer them to other people or add to them by playing games. Total points just sit there and can't be used. It's stupid really, but the decision was made to set things up that way more than a year ago, and apparently we can't get the admins to change their minds.

Yeah, I remember when that decision was made, though that was about a year before I became a CL. I personally don't like the way it is set up either, and have voiced that, but it is not my decision to change it back. Total points reflects how many points you had before that change was made, I believe.

I agree, what a ridiculous plan? E-mail the admins and address your opinion! But please, whatever you do, don't be impolite!

i think many people have probably tried emailing the admins already with little success! a lot of people don't like the usable and total points system. it was designed so that users with over a billion points would be entered in to a draw to win a free premium membership; but that only happened once from what i've heard. i wasn't around when the old points system was in use, but i can see why people don't like the new system. the problem with bringing back the old points system is that some members will have absolutely huge amounts of points and newer members (especially members who joined after the system was introduced) are going to lose out horribly! i guess this is one of the reasons why the admins are not planning on changing it anytime soon. i believe there was a thread somewhere in the suggestions board from the staff about changing the points system. i'll post a link to it if i can find it.

At the time it sort of made sense, but now that points are so easy to get and many people have quadrillions of points, there is no longer a give away and no need for usable vs. total points.

I can compare this useable points as your present loveable bf/gf/hubby/wife. on the other hand, those total points/useless points as your your dreamy queens. whether it makes any sense?

the total points can't be useful. you can just look at that and dream on them. as my useable points and the total points are given below.

Usable Points: 0 (ranked #5222)
Total Points: 540,605,490
